FAQs

All of our breeding dogs and hired studs have OFA hips, elbows,  patellas, cardiac, and CERF/OFA eyes as well as full panel DNA testing for over 200 genetically inheritance conditions/diseases.

When we see potential in a puppy as a future breeding dog, we carefully place her in a guardian home. A guardian family get the puppy for life for free. They only pay for regular pet related expenses like food, vet, grooming etc. We pay for anything breeding related and her spay. We retain the rights to breed and if she passing all of her health testing will breed her after the age of 2 up to 3 litters . We pay for her spay and sign over ownership to the guardian at that time.

This depends on how many breeding females we have at one time. Generally each Mama has 1 litter per yr .We produce between 1-3 litters per year.

We hire the best of the best studs from reputable breeders who do all of the same testing that we do. This means travel to the stud or shipping semen for our reproductive vet to do artificial insemination.

In nature most dogs would have a litter every heat. It is very much in their nature to breed. If we were to have a Mama dog not take well to mothering or have any concerns we would spay and retire her.

We start breeding after their 2nd birthday and all testing to be complete and finalized.  This way she is fully grown and mature. We breed every heat after that because research shows it is healthier than skipping heat cycles. This also means we can retire her younger.

Most people love to come and pick up their puppy at 8 weeks. We can ship with a chaperone or flight nanny, or deliver for an extra fee.

Each litter is priced according to our costs for breeding and therefore vary from litter to litter . Please ask the price of the litter you are interested in.

We do puppy pick after the temperament testing and vet check so that you can know as much as possible before you pick your puppy. Pick is done in order of date the deposit is received.

Yes and No. We are not a shop, or farm. Puppies are born and raised in our family home, so we do not accept random visitors. Also we need to think about the health and safety of our dogs and puppies by reducing traffic as things like parvo can be carried in on your shoes and can wipe out an entire litter of puppies.

However if you have been approved, sent a deposit and are on a litters list, you will get to visit the puppies around 6 weeks. Why 6 weeks ? Because it is a great time to get an idea of their personalities and gives you a week to think about your top picks before pick day.
